TV STUDIO OF ANIMATION FILMS Limited Liability Company with the seat in Poznań since 1980

Over a period of 41 years, the team of the Poznań Studio has made 300 short- and mid-length animated films, which received a total of 208 awards and commendations at national and international film festivals, including 33 awards granted by the Children’s Jury, 11 awards granted to TV SFA for its achievements in animation production, 5 press awards and 11 letters of congratulations, including from the President of the Republic of Poland, Mayor of the City of Poznań and Director of the Polish Film Art Institute.

Four directors collaborating with the Studio for many years received the “Zasłużony Kulturze Gloria Artis” Medals (Gloria Artis Culture Merits), awarded by the Ministry of Culture and National Heritage of the Republic of Poland. The silver Gloria Artis medal was awarded to: Jacek Adamczak, Zbigniew Kotecki and Hieronim Neumann, the bronze Gloria Artis medal went to Aleksandra Korejwo.

In addition to Children’s Jury Awards, Grand Prix, First and Second Places, Special Awards and Audience Awards, films made by artists from the Poznań Studio have also been awarded and appreciated:

FOR the scripts, design, direction, animation, FOR the perfect transposition of music into pictures, FOR creativeness of form and imaginativeness, FOR the best TV films and the best video clips for children, FOR the stylistic purity of animated painting, FOR the original film design, FOR special artistic value, FOR building prestige of Polish cinema abroad, FOR taking children to the enchanted world of fantasy, FOR propagating noble ideals, FOR glorifying human soul, FOR the never-ending story of love and goodness, FOR the artistic and moral values, and splendid artwork, FOR reminding audiences that ‘the most important things are those that the eye cannot see’, FOR the creation of wonderful effects, for balance and mastery in showing music through animation, FOR contribution to Slavonic Cinema, FOR contribution to promoting Polish animated films worldwide, FOR courageous use of unique means of artistic expression, FOR the search for new ways of artistic expression stimulating children’s sensitivity, FOR the great contribution to the development of the Polish animation film which made the Polish film art enjoy numerous successes, FOR special achievements in the area of world animation cinema, FOR the sense of humour and wonderful fun with children…

 

They also received the following top awards:

Grand Prix – Golden Frames [Złote Kadry] for the best short film
for exceptional production of the film using the painting technique which has given the fairy tale its unique charm. Although set in the world of animals, the story told in the film ideally reflects our everyday life…

TV Studio Filmów Animowanych Sp. z o. o.  in Poznań was established on 26 June 2001, after the transformation of Television Studio of Animation Films operating in the years 1980 – 2001 within the organisational structures of Polish Television S.A. into a new business entity, a limited liability company.

The artists – shareholders of TV SFA and regular partners make cartoon animation films using different graphic and painting techniques on celluloid, cardboard or paper, cut-out animation, animation in friable matter, in combined and computer-assisted 2D techniques.

TV SFA is an artistic and ideological successor of the 20-years-long heritage and experience of Television Studio of Animation Films.

Since the beginning of 2002, TV SFA Sp. z o. o. has been realising for Channel 1 of the Polish Television a series of animation films for children under a common title Polish Fairy Tales [39 episodes x 13’], series Fantazy the Bear [13 episodes x 13’] and, pursuant to an international contract, a films from the „Animated Tales of the World” series and independent production.
