Gift of Skarbnik, the Coal Mine Spirit
A long, long time ago or maybe not that long… Far, far away or maybe quite near… every day, from a very early hour, Miner Maślok with his sons Francik and Ecik, worked in the pit. However, Fracik, who was lazy, only pretended to work. He fell asleep standing, hid in various nooks and crannies or made his younger brother Ecik work for him. One day, the Foreman told him that if he continued to disregard his duties he would summon the Treasurer – the Coal Mine Spirit and Francik would be punished. Francik refused to believe the Foreman and, instead of working, again fell asleep. He started whistling in his sleep. The Mine Spirit appeared and, contrary to the tradition, decided to give Francik a treasure, provided that he would do nothing for the rest of his life…
