Amber Crown
A long, long time ago or maybe not that long… Far, far away or maybe quite near… in a village on the Baltic coast lived a boy called Mikołaj. When others were at work, Mikołaj preferred to spend his time doing mischief or searching the beaches for amber. He dug up the roots of pine trees growing on the dunes, convinced that he would find his precious amber there. One day, he saw the Water Maiden leave the water and place an amber crown on the sand. Without thinking much, Mikołaj decided to steal the crown. Then, the Water Maiden called wind and waves for help. The angry sea took the crown from Mikołaj. The King of the Baltic arrived and decided to punish him by turning the boy into a plant growing on the seashore…
