Animated films to classical music

The Dream

A film miniature to music by Robert Schumann. The various faces of women, taken out of paintings by Leonardo da Vinci, Raphael, Botticelli, Titian and Ingres, show woman as a muse, a lady, a heroine, a lover. The juxtaposition of the points of view of women by artists of different eras and the depiction of women in many incarnations make up the film’s attempt to define the essence of femininity – an eternal theme explored by painters of all eras. The film’s point of departure is Mona Lisa’s mysterious smile, which is the director’s commentary on the ever-repeated attempts to capture the ephemeral, the indefinable and the indefinable, which eludes any attempt at analysis or synthesis.
