Lack – Best Author Film

For the third time, the Board of Directors of the Animated Film Section is pleased to hand out the industry’s community awards for creators and co-creators of animated films. The purpose of the industry AWARDS is primarily to distinguish in individual professional categories, which result, among other things, from the stages and process of making animated films. The originator and initiator of the Awards is the Board of the Animated Film Section of the Polish Filmmakers Association. This year’s Award’23 winners were selected by the members of the Chapter, consisting of: chairwoman of the Chapter: Alicja Witkowska – director, animator, screenwriter and lecturer; Joanna Jasińska – Koronkiewicz – director, animator and lecturer; Tomasz Siwiński – director, animator, screenwriter; Maria Deskur – producer; Andrzej Gosieniecki – director, animator. The jury watched 51 animated films. Awards were given in nine categories.

BEST AUTHOR FILM
goes to Paweł Prewencki for the film LACK
BEST AUTHOR FILM OF THE 2023 YEAR
for depicting a personal experience and constructing a moving and deeply emotional story in a symbolic form, both on a visual and animation level complemented by an excellent soundtrack
