The Golden Apple Tree
A long, long time ago or maybe not that long… Far, far away or maybe quite near… in a village there lived a widower Lumberjack Jakub with his daughter Dorotka. Dorotka was a good and industrious girl, so the father often called her a treasure. The news of “Jakub’s treasure” travelled from mouth to mouth and turned into a rumour which reached the ear of greedy Brunhilda. A treasure is a treasure. It must be buried somewhere. I must find it – thought Brunhilda and under the pretext of taking care of the home and Dorotka, she soon arranged a wedding… Her cunning plan was thwarted by the Cock with a golden feather, brought by Dorotka from a street market…
