The Witch’s Beads
A long, long time ago or maybe not that long… Far, far away or maybe quite near… on the shores of the Lake Beldan, just behind the fishing village of Wejsuny, there stands an old disused windmill. The people from the village, fearful of meeting its mysterious inhabitants, prefer to give the place a wide berth. A Witch with her Boy Servant lives there. One day, the Witch casts a spell on Anna, the youngest daughter of fisherman Szymon. When Anna reaches adulthood, the Witch gives her a string of beads. Thanks to them the girl recovers her beauty. She does not realise that the gift comes at a high price…
