Stories from the Sandbox, season 1

Season 1, 13 episodes 05:00 min.
The series is an original adaptation of Renata Piątkowska’s book under the eponymous title. It consists of episodes from the life of five-year-old Tommy, interpreted from his point of view and presented in the author’s narration. Each of Tommy’s adventures begins with a sentence ‘I like…’ or ‘I don’t like…’. For Tommy, every day is the start of a new, unforgettable adventure. A day full of thrills, which adults do not notice and often do not understand. The author uses every topic, even seemingly trivial ones, for philosophical and moral deliberations – because little Tommy is a bit of a ‘thinker-prodigy’. The humour in these stories is seemingly unintentional and stems from the child’s self-willed and curious nature.
Tommy is a preschooler, bright, disarming and curious about the world. The question “why” is always on his lips. Little hands are never bored, and every day reinforces his conviction that there is a whole lot in the world that adults will never understand. Tommy, in the manner typical of preschoolers, discovers and explains the world to himself. He copes with everything that the day brings with undiminished cheerfulness. His sense of humour and the funny situations he constantly gets involved in make adults smile broadly, and the children following his adventures react very spontaneously.
